1266 - X

ERG - 6 / BQ - 7 / WB - 4 / DP - 6 / ID - 3 / RR - 5 / AR - 5 / PG - 6 / BH - 2 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 5.8kHz / GB - FIXED / BATTS - 8 x AA / METER - NO / TONE ID - NO / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/5" C.

An older model now. Famed in it's day for it's depth, but struggled with iron. Occasionally seen second-hand.

1225 - X

ERG - 6 / BQ - 5 / WB - 8 / DP - 5 / ID - 4/ RR - 5 / AR - 5 / PG - 5 / BH - 2 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 5.5kHz / GB - FIXED / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - NO / TONE ID - NO / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/5" C.

Still obtainable, despite the changes at Fisher. Light, easy to use machine with good depth for the price. Nice starter detector or backup machine.

1236 - X2

ERG - 6 / BQ - 6  / WB - 7/ DP - 6/ ID - 4 / RR - 5 / AR - 6 / PG - 6 / BH - 2 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 5.5kHz / GB - FIXED / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - NO / TONE ID - NO / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/5" C.

Still quite a popular detector, quite good at seeing through iron trash. Light and easy to use.

1270

ERG - 6 / BQ - 7 / WB - 5 / DP - 7 /ID - 5 / RR - 7 / AR - 7 /PG - 6 /BH - 2 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 8.2kHz / GB - MANUAL /BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - NO / TONE ID - NO / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/5" C.

A model that has vanished with the changes at Fisher, occasionally seen second-hand. A useful machine with decent iron "see-through" ability.

CZ - 3D

ERG - 6 / BQ - 7 / WB - 4 / DP - 9 / ID - 4 / RR - 5 / AR - 6 / PG - 8 / BH - 5 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 5 & 15kHz / GB - MANUAL / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - ANALOG / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 8" C/10.5"C /12" C/5"C.

A powerful detector, optimised for searching out old coins. Now hard to get hold of, occasionally seen second-hand. Has problems with iron though.

CZ - 70

ERG - 6 / BQ - 7 / WB - 4 / DP - 9 / ID - 4 / RR - 5 / AR - 6 / PG - 8 / BH - 5 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 5 & 15kHz / GB - MANUAL / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/12" C/5" C.

Similar depth to the 3D, without the tone optimisation. Good general use machine. Very difficult to get hold of now.

ID EXCEL

ERG - 7 / BQ - 6 / WB - 8 /DP - 7 / ID - 6 / RR - 7 / AR - 7 / PG - 7 / BH - 2 / AC - 4.

FREQ - 6.5kHz / GB - AUTO / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 8" C/10/5" C.

A nice little machine to use - light and easy to use - little brother of the ID Edge. Now only seen second-hand.

COINSTRIKE

ERG - 5 / BQ - 7 / WB - 7/ DP - 9/ ID - 7 / RR - 8 / AR - 8 / PG - 8 / BH - 6 / AC - 6.

FREQ - 7kHz ? / GB - AUTO & TRACKING / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 5" C/8" C/10.5"C.

A powerful and deep detector. Now hard to obtain. Rather steep learning curve with this one, the unusual threshold/sensitivity combination foxed many people, but in expert hands this is an excellent machine. Target id numbers were a little erratic.

ID - EDGE

ERG - 7 / BQ - 6 / WB - 9 / DP - 9 / ID - 7 / RR - 8 / AR - 8 / PG - 9 / BH - 2 / AC - 5.

FREQ - 6.25kHz / GB - AUTO / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 8" C/10.5" C/5.75"C.

An easy to use, deep detector. Fisher had learnt from their experiences with the Coinstrike when they brought this one out. Unfortunately, now disappeared due to the changes at Fisher, occasionally seen second-hand and ex-demo. Accessory coils can be hard to obtain, especially in the UK. One of the best kept secrets out there - will easily rival the Explorer and F75 for depth. Well worth looking out for.

F75

ERG - 9 / BQ - 5 / WB - 8 / DP - 9 / ID - 8 / RR - 10 / AR - 9 / PG - 8 / BH - 2 /AC - 2.

FREQ - 13kHz / GB - AUTO & MANUAL / BATTS - 4 x AA / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 1/2/3/4/multi / COILS - 11 x 7 biaxial DD.

A deep and powerful detector, with ultra-fast response, making it excellent for arable land, particularly where there is lots of iron. Steepish learning curve, good iron discrim and capable of pulling out the finds that others have missed. More coil choices would be nice.

There is a longer review of the F75 HERE

F4

ERG - 7 / BQ - 4 / WB - 8 / DP - 7 / ID - 7 / RR - 8 / AR - 8 / PG - 7 / BH - 2 / AC - 6.

FREQ - 6.8kHz / GB - MANUAL / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 11 x 7 biaxial DD/8"C/4"C/10.5"C.

Excellent starter machine and a great backup. Easy to use and set up, good choice of coils. Light and well balanced. Can't go wrong for £280.

F2

ERG - 7 / BQ - 3 / WB - 8 / DP - 6 / ID - 6 / RR - 7 / AR - 6 / PG - 6 / BH - 2 / AC - 6.

FREQ - 6.5kHz / GB - FIXED / BATTS - 2 x PP3 / METER - YES - DIGITAL / TONE ID - YES - 4 / COILS - 8"C/4"C/10"C.

Decent starter machine. Build quality a little lacking, but can't really complain for the price. Good recovery speed.
